The Board of Directors of AVTECH Sweden AB (publ) ("AVTECH" or "The Company") today communicates the following business update:
AVTECH and easyJet, one of Europe’s leading airlines, has agreed to proceed with deployment of AVTECH’s Aventus NowCast™ wind uplink service to the full fleet of easyJet, including both Swiss- and UK-based aircraft. The decision follows the positive outcome of recently performed product evaluations.
Aventus NowCast™ has been in use within easyJet’s Swiss-based fleet since 2016 and upon demonstrating the contracted fuel saving targets, a deployment of the end-to-end solution to the complete easyJet fleet is now given a go-ahead.
“We are delighted to have easyJet as an AVTECH customer and thrilled about our future cooperation”, says Soren Skog, Marketing Director at AVTECH. “The first phase has taken a bit longer than expected to complete, but both easyJet and AVTECH have made strong efforts to reach a successful completion”, he continues.
“We welcome easyJet’s decision to implement Aventus NowCast™ in their fleet. This is another confirmation that the Aventus product supports our customers’ efforts to reduce fuel consumption and CO2footprint”, says AVTECH CEO Christer Fehrling. “We are certain Aventus will contribute to make easyJet’s operations even more efficient”, he concludes.
“After a careful selection process, we are very happy to start a fleet-wide deployment of the Aventus service,” says Brian Tyrrell, Head of Flight Operations at easyJet. “AVTECH has proven themselves as a reliable supplier to easyJet, and by today’s decision we show that we are very comfortable in knowing that Aventus NowCast™ brings definite benefits to our operations”, he concludes.
The decision to implement Aventus NowCast™ with the full easyJet fleet is made under the agreement signed in 2016. The fleet-wide rollout is expected to take a number of months.
